Intelligent Irrigation and Lighting System for Orchard

Abstract

Irrigation is important element in nature life because it reflects how the crops grow, so
without a good irrigation system there would be no sufficient crops and crops have lack of
vitamins. A good system of irrigation in fact means do not water unnecessary parts such as
rocks, sidewalks or even over or lack of watering on the plants the plant. Irrigation is a bit
difficult in an area such as villa gardens or orchards because in these areas there are a
variety of the trees like peaches, apples, oranges, cherries, grapes, apricots, walnuts,
pistachios, almonds, and many others at the same area. This paper presents an intelligent
irrigation system for gardens or orchards to increase the productivity of watering while
saving the expenses of labors and the amount of water that need to be watered. The usage
of soil moisture sensors, water pump, hose, LDR sensor and a microcontroller which is
loaded with C programming codes made this smart system completely intelligent to do the
lightening and watering intelligently without any monitoring.
