Energy consumption of using diesel generator to power banks is a contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This paper presents an assessment of environmental impact of power generation in banking. HOMER-optimization and simulation software tool was used to study the Environmental impact of Banks powered by Diesel Generator. The environmental impact of powering banks with diesel generators was assessed by quantifying the emissions generated in terms of pollution and the impact in terms of Environmental cost. Based on the simulation result of Emissions from Diesel Generator and presented here (29.23 tonnes of Carbon dioxide (CO2), 0.07 tonnes of Carbon monoxide (CO), 0.01 tonnes of Unburned hydrocarbons (UHC), 0.01 tonnes of Particulate matter (PM), 0.06 tonnes of Sulfur dioxide (SO2), and 0.64 tonnes of Nitrogen oxides (NOX)), it has shown that there is a strong case to prove the environmental impact of using diesel in powering Banks.
