Abstract

This study is an analysis energy performance of refrigerator-freezer using Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Software is used to simulate experimental data and generate contour plot and response surface. The study is containing three major stages. The first step is to derive the RSM equation. This unique equation is determining by experiments. The second stage is set-up experiment which was conducted in energy performance monitoring room and based on the RSM rule. The last stage is to develop and simulate the RSM equation using MATLAB software. The variable considered for this experiment are load, room temperature and thermostat setting which are main energy consumption contributor for this appliance. The result at the experiment is taken directly from the data acquisition and Digital Power Meter through the computer. The result presents the correlation between energy performance to room temperature ambient temperature, and thermostat setting of the system.
