Abstract

While corporate social responsibility (CSR) research has largely focused on large corporations, this study acknowledges the growing importance of CSR among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which play a vital role in the economic and social development of nations. The study aims to analyze the scientific output and research trends related to CSR in SMEs by examining journal articles indexed in Elsevier’s Scopus database from 2000 to 2024. Utilizing a bibliometric approach and VOS viewer software, the study presents a knowledge-domain map that highlights journal affiliations and author collaboration networks. A total of 368 research articles were collected, revealing a steady increase in CSR publications by SMEs. The findings also identify the key journals, countries, organizations, and highly cited papers in this field, offering valuable insights into the current trends in CSR research for SMEs.
